In June 2002 we organized an International Conference “Self-Esteem as a Prevention Strategy in Working with Youth”, with participants from 7 EU countries.
In 2004 we conducted a research on self-esteem among Slovenian students and it’s relation to anti-social behaviour and school dropouts, in cooperation with the National Youth Bureau.
During the years 2005-2010, 45 elementary schools from all over the country participated in our BASE program. The program included work with teachers, administrators, students and parents.

1. The Institute conducted several projects in the last 10 years, but we are listing only some most important:

»Building an Accepting School Environment« in cooperation and with the support of the Office for Preventing Addiction (Urad za preprečevanje zasvojenosti, Ljubljana) in 15 elementary schools in Ljubljana.

»Building an Accepting School Environment« in cooperation and with the support of the Ministry for Social Affairs (Ministrstvo za delo, družino in socialne zadeve) in 20 schools all over Slovenia.

»Building Self-Esteem among Youth At-Risk« (Razvijanje pozitivnega samovrednotenja mladostnikov z že zaznanimi težavami), in cooperation and with the support of the Ministry for Social Affairs (Ministrstvo za delo, družino in socialne zadeve) and in cooperation with Radeče Correctional Facility, Youth Home Malči Beličeve and Institute of Education Logatec.

Conducting the School for Parents, in cooperation and with the support of the Ministry for Social Affairs (Ministrstvo za delo, družino in socialne zadeve), the Office for Preventing Addiction in Ljubljana, Nova Gorica and Ptuj. Over 5.000 people participated in our lectures and workshops.
2. Organizer of the International Conference, 2002
In June 2002 the Self-Esteem Institute organized an International Conference with the title Building Self-Esteem as a Successful Prevention Strategy in Working with Youth. The International Conference was held in Slovenia, Brdo pri Kranju. Over 140 participants from 7 countries attended the Conference.
3. Research on Self-Esteem among Slovenian students, 2003
In 2003 we concluded a research on the relation of self-esteem among students to anti-social behaviors and school dropouts (in cooperation with the Slovenian Office for Youth). The research included 475 elementary school students and 130 high school students.
4. BASE program implementation in the years 2002/04
In the years 2002/04 we implemented the BASE program in 9 Slovenian schools. There were 411 teachers, 187 mentors (teachers trained to conduct the program workshosps,1.500 students from 92 classrooms and 989 parents, included in the project. After two years we evaluated the results of the program implementation. The basic conclusions are presented below.
